Description

Keihin FCR Carburetor Retrofit Kit for DRZ 400 SuperMoto APP-1001-2
For sale is an Allgeyer Performance Products installation kit for DRZ400.
Parts in this retrofit kit are produced by Allgeyer Performance Products.  Items included:
·
Rubber carburetor to engine coupling
·
Aluminum carburetor to air box adapter (allows buyers to use the OEM Suzuki air filter and box)
·
Hose clamp
The adapter in this kit allows a Keihin FCR carburetor without the removable intake bell to be installed onto a DRZ400 super moto.
FCR’s without the removable intake are common on 4 stroke racing four-wheelers and dirt bikes. FCRs without the removable intake bell are identical internally to those with the removable intake bell, but can be obtained much cheaper. The adapter allows an FCR without the removable intake to be installed onto a DRZ or other supermoto with the same performance increases as those doing the traditional swap. For those on a budget this is a great option. An instructional is available on the Thumper Talk forum under “Budget FCR swap for DRZ400, a new approach”. You may reference one of the included pictures for a full parts list.
Products have been specially engineered with the following features.
·
Velocity stack to minimize turbulence of incoming air.
·
Optional side holes for secure mounting using the included set screws and locating slot to prevent movement.
·
Adapters can be used with FCR's of various bore sizes (for example 38, 39, 40, 41mm etc.).
·
All adapters have been tested to withstand normal operating temperatures and for gasoline resistance.
·
No modifications are required to your carburetor to use this adapter.
Parts are made in the USA and kits have been installed on over 200 motorcycles!

*Note: Carb to engine boot is no longer OEM, as pictured.  Over the past few years some customers have experienced trouble with the OEM boot during installation.  By making the parts from another tubing rated for fuel exposure the FCR position can be manipulated more easily making installation less challenging.  Depending on who Keihin made your carb for (Honda, Yamaha, etc.) it could be slightly taller or shorter.  There are many variations of the FCR MX carb.  Better positioning will keep installers from smashing the carb’s throttle hosing into the gas tank and upper frame member.
